Hey folks
As y'all know Open Data is one part of a broader Open Government agenda
about making all aspects of the public sector Open and Transparent.
I'm particularly focused on procurement, specifically how easy it is or
isn't for small businesses to gain access to government contracts. I'm
launching an initiative to this effect, to bring 'Cloud Service Brokers'
to Canada to address the imbalances that occur in this area.
Check out the start of our PR about this:

I'm posting here as I'm looking for further inputs specific to this area,
ie what role do you think Open Data might play in these scenarios to help?
Also in general what are your experiences of getting access to government
business? Is it fair and open for all to participate, or do the big
vendors like IBM, CA and Microsoft get more privileged access do you
think?
Cheers,
