In response to the discussion around formalizing a legal entity, we
set up a teleconference for Monday, April 21st at 21:00 GMT.

Full details are on the wiki page, and are copied below for easy
reference.

*** NOTE ***
This teleconference is being set up to discuss the legal formalization
of the DataPortability Project. A likely outcome of the call will be
action steps to move forward in a proposed direction. While it is
true that no definitive vote on any proposals will be held on this
call, this is one of the most important times you will have to
actively debate the topic.
************

If you would like your voice heard, it is highly recommended that you
attend this call.

Please spread the word.

Steering Group -

The meeting notes for the teleconference have been posted to the wiki:

http://wiki.dataportability.org/x/wQwR

Check the page for the details, and please augment/modify with your
own notes. The audio recording will be posted soon (and will be
available via the DataPortability Podcast Feed).

The outcome of the call was that Brady Brim-DeForest will help
shepherd the research into a few basic legal options. He'll be
reaching out to people with an overview and solicit participation.
The next milestone will be to present status at the next Steering
Action Group teleconference on Monday, April 28th, 2008
(teleconference details to follow later in the week).

Brady,

Of the options that need to be fleshed out, I'm happy to answer questions
about the Identity Commons option, as I'm sure would any of the other
Identity Commons stewards on this list (Brett, Kaliya, Chris Allen).

Thanks Trent. I wanted to point out that I made several edits to the
minutes. Mostly just the to the points I raised during the call.

I recall we had some debate on the call about our governance model
today vs. what has been proposed as a new governance model. That
debate didn't seem to be in the minutes at all so I didn't add it back
in since I assume there is some reason why you didn't choose to minute
it (off topic perhaps).

Brett -

Many thanks for correcting the record.

As far as the governance discussion, any omission was entirely an
oversight on my part. I took the conversation to be adjunct points to
the legal discussion I tried to capture, but feel free to add anything
that was said which I missed.

Thanks for the oversight,
Trent
