We all know this is just the latest in a long line of problems that
are emerging in 2008 and beyond - so it's great to have the Scobleizer
championing the cause for all the standards groups out there.
We own our own social graph data - and we also own all our other
data.
With the smart peeps like Chris Messina, Danny Ayers and others doing
the hard work on the standards, the two Josh's, Paul and Zef working
on the WRFS data model and the DP Reference design being worked out
between us we all have something very special to offer the world.
With people like Ben Metcalfe, Daniela Barbosa and Marc Canter pushing
for adoption with their clients we have great practical implementation
stuff going on and now with Robert and other great bloggers on our
side helping to spread the word (Mark from Mashable and Marshall from
RWW are real advocates as well) we have a real chance of helping each
of the standards communities get the level of adoption they deserve by
putting this all in end-to-end context.
And best of all.... no one owns it. It is simply a reference design
that anyone in the world can implement at any time!

Robert needs no introduction - welcome to the team - great to have you.
We can't keep meeting like this, people will start to talk ;) (we are also on the Media2.0workgroup.org together).

i hope one day people get this excited over me ;-)
Welcome Robert- and i just watched you moglus live stream- i am not
tech geek either but dataportability.org needs business thought
leaders as well. thanks for sharing your capital for the good cause.
The public group is for general help and discussion while we should
limit the discussion in the workgroup to administrative things such as
discussing the finer points of, and ratifying the reference design.
