I may have missed the memo, but have we started any discussions about the aspect of DataPortability over IM via the XMPP protocol?
I believe that XMPP would be the best way to do this, considering it is an XML protocol and is Open Source, is there any other input, or is this just an accepted fact?

I'm also curious about this topic.
Would the existing namespaces be used for each protocol/data item? Or
would the need for an enclosure type namespace be required so the
transmitted element is identifiable as a dataportability element?
