Hello Sander,
I am not sure Bhavana too has the Karma to do that :). The trick is to
not let it expire. Once expired, there's no resurrection. We could
re-create a new folder in Oxfile, but the url would now be different.
Oxfile just isn't going to work in the long run. Well, may be we should
manage files for download in the databank demo site.

Anyway, in other news, the Bodleian has had a string of bad luck with
its hardware. We had multiple server failures within a span of a few
days and are now in the process of slowly recovering our data from those
disks. It means we are having to rebuild all of our machines.

I hope to recover all of Jira and the apt-repo from backup, but not so
for Jenkins and would need to build that as new.

I will keep you all posted on the progress. We are looking at the end of
this week at the earliest, before all of our services are going to be
running.

the requestor. Is it possible to put an end date on the link that's
quite far in the future? :)

I agree with Anusha that it would be good if we could to discuss an
alternative distribution mechanism for future releases.

Hi Sander,

I have kept the link alive for 30 days from now ( thats the max it
allows you to do from when you request ).
I can ensure to keep doing this to extend the longitivity of the link
for however long or until a new release is up.

Oxfile is great for huge data files, the only downside of it being that
one needs to remember and keep extending the longitivity just before the
expiry period. I only wish it sent reminder emails on expiry for which,
I did not find any option, on oxfile. So if one forgets to extend before
expiry files need to be reloaded and as a result new links are
generated.

The key point to think on is that OxFiles is for temporarily sharing files, which is why it has such a tight TTL.

As this is the second time we've discovered that the files have expired, can I put in a +1 for choosing another host for these files?
