Subject: DBUG> TRANSFER TO ACAD
Debuggers,
I recently completed a build-out for a government agency and I am to
provide
them with CD's, of course I need to export them as AutoCAD files, my
dilemma
is that I have a site location map that is a .png image (downloaded
from the
city's GIS site) and an overall bldg plan that was imported as a .pdf
image
(from the .pdf drawing file provided), both images are blank on the
CD.
Is there a way and/or is it possible for me to export these images
into
AutoCAD?
TIA,
David Haynes AIA

Have you tried making them into a symbol?
I don't recall if that's the trick, but maybe so.

You'll need to open the imported files in Acad and re-insert the
images
there.
Let me know (off-forum) if you need help on it and I can insert them
for
you.

We have received a letter from the above organization outlining the
basis
for their belief that 9/11 did not occur as the official reports
stated as
well as a flyer advertising a talk series in three capital cities plus
Wellington, NZ. Their main expert is a bloke by the name of Richard
Gage,
AIA. Apparently they "have no conspiracy theories".
Has anybody else been unlucky enough to receive anything similar? &
why here
in Australia (& New Zealand)?
Cheers

I've been unsuccessful at figuring this out in ACAD 2000LT or ACAD
2009. =
I'd l love to know "on forum" how to do it. :-)

This guy seems a complete frootloop You can see how he comes across on
this
episode of Playschool.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFVoencqfZw
Playschool is exported all over rthe world and I don't know if this
clip
was made in Australia or not. I assume it is the real person.
I understand his organisation first came to light when he made some
claims
about insurance premiums in New York after September 11 that were
absurd
lies..
I guess he is coming because, while the frootloop industry is very big
in
America, after eight years it's time to move on to new pastures.
Besides,
our weather is better.

Subject: Re: DBUG> Re: TRANSFER TO ACAD
I use BricsCad V10 as my Acad-clone of choice, but the general
concepts
should match up with regular Acad and AcadLT.
Here's how I did it:
1) Open the DWG file in Acad/BricsCad/etcCad
2) Find the polyline where the bitmap is supposed to be (the outline
will be there - just no picture) and select that layer as the active
layer.
(here's where the names may differ, but the concept is the same)
3) Go to the "Images" pull down and select "Attach Raster Image"
(BricsCad has an option to import the "full path", "relative path" or
"no path" to the bitmap - I would do the "no path" option)
4) Snap to the upper left corner of the polyline, then drag it to the
upper right corner of the original polyline.
5) Erase the old polyline.
6) Move the raster image down by dragging it from the upper left (or
right) corner to the bottom left (or right) corner.
7) If there is any text that should be showing but isn't, change the
draw order (select and right-click on the image border in BricsCad)
and
send bitmap to the back.
8) Save the file.
When you sent the DWG file, you'll need to also send the bitmap file
(s)
too, and let the recipient know where they need to be saved to. With
the "no path" option in BricsCad, they just need to be in the same
directory as the DWG file. I don't believe that you can bind the
bitmap
image into the DWG file from Acad either.
I verified that David's file opened correctly in both BricsCad V10 as
well as DoubleCad XT V1.1 (the free version) showing the bitmaps
without
problem.
