I am trying to figure out how to take a screenshot in Datacad with a keyboard that does not have a "Print screen" key. I use an Apple keyboard. I'd appreciate any input anyone can give... I suspect it may be simple....

Hi Bill,

Often A function key can be used with another key to provide the print
screen utility on keyboards which don't have it. However, a few ways:

If you happen to have MS OneNote open that, point in a window and in the
'Insert' tab hit 'Screen Clipping' and define the clip. You may need to copy
and paste this image into something like paint to export it to a form you
can then import into Dcad.

Applications like Photoshop and Corel also include the ability to take
screen shots. There are quite a few others.

If you are in Windows 7 or Vista go t the Start Button (LH bottom corner)
and select 'Accessories' 'Snipping Tool' There are a choice of snipping
types to be selected make the clip and choose a save location then you can
load from there.

There are quite a lot of downloadable tools often free I think which also do
this like ScreenShot, Snagit and Jing

There are two ways: use the F13 key when you are in Windows and it should function as the Print Screen key (it is in the "right" position). If you want just the active window to be saved to the Clipboard, hold the Alt key and then the F13 key.

The second way is to use the Mac side to make the screen capture: Command/Shift/4 and then drag a rectangle around the area you want to capture. This puts a PNG file with the date and time on the Mac desktop.

Third method (not knowing the two Neil described) is to use the On-Screen Keyboard. In XP, it's under Accessories/Accessibility. I've gone that route when needing a screen capture on the PC side of my MacBook.
