Subject: Multiview window width

I have just reloaded windows xp and all my software. For DataCAD (14) I
replaced the default dcadwin.ini / .mnu with my modified dcadwin.ini / .mnu
from before. The MultiView windows come up very narrow and I cannot find how
to modify the width. Someone please point me in the right direction.

TIA

Stephen

Did you have them undocked before?  You can resize them once they are undocked; which is how I have them on a second monitor.

Neil, et al

Yes, I can see that now. But, if I remember correctly, I had them docked,
all the same (wider) width before. When I do that now the windows are
"portrait" proportioned, not landscape. And the image is tiny, not like
before. So, I am thinking that there is a way to set the width size for the
area where they are to be docked such that they resort to the landscape
shape.

There is a dcadwin.ini under d:\DataCad 14

and there is a dcadwin.mnu inder D:\datacad 14\support files\messages and
labels

The lattter may have control over the windows sizes, but I'm sure the former
hasn't, although there is actually a header [multiview windows], .

None of this matters . All you need to is manually arrange and size your
windows and DataCad will remember them. Once done, this is apparent without
even actually opening a drawing. That is the way it has always been and, if
you aren't getting the same thing, you are probably up for a
re-installation.

Hah! As I recall it, if they were docked, the windows just occupied the
space available to them, and I think you could be right, there was a command
to fix the width, but it isn't used if the windows are undocked.

At the risk of sounding flippant, your best solution is to undock the
windows, and move them to the second monitor.

Hi Stephen,

There is an INI setting to rejigger the image size within the MW.  It helps when you save a view and a large portion of it gets truncated or there is a large boundary.

I don't know about resizing them while they are docked.

Sincerely, Neil

If the other answers are what you need, you can also manually edit the
Support Files\DcadWinToolbars.gui file, and change the FloatCWidth for
each {TBMView#].
