Subject: late-setting of variables
I've noted that it may be appropriate to set some variables only on
the server (and leave them unset on dashy client). My plan for this
will be to:

 1. get you to set the variable to itself on dashy client ("$foo = $foo").
 2. provide a similar variable-setting process on the server (either
via a task [which means it they need to be set per-instance], or
against the release in a similar (but not the same) fashion as dashy
client [i.e. i wouldn't force you to set up the variables first, it
would be more ad-hoc].
