Hello Mr Amit,
It will be my pleasure to guide you. In your case there are three possibilities in my mind , It might be DIscogenic Pain? , Facet Arthropathy? or FIbromyalgia. you give more details of your pain. at which part of day  it is maximum? when it is worse, on walking, standing, sitting or sitting or lying down? have you donr MRI? in your case only gabasafe is not enough?
thanks.

Dear Sir,
I came across one of your article titled Herpes Zoster (Shingles) and Postherpetic Neuralgia. For last one year I have been suffering from acute pain in my backbone probably the lower ones at LS portion.
Symptoms Encountered:Morning Stiffness in the Lumbosacral  portion frequently causing difficulty in bending and even pains during any slighter movement ie; coughing/sneezing,Radiating Pain is felt on both sides of the thoracic part(Muscular) as if it is jammed,Feeling of numbness in the hands and legs more often the right ones(As if the limbs have become weightless),Getting exhausted very easily in day to day work being an academician by profession.

I was suggested  for MRI of LUMBAR SPINE and SACRO ILLIAC JOINT recently by one of the doctor and it revealed that
PARTIAL SACRALIZATION OF L5 VERTEBRAwith PSEUDOARTHOSIS ON RIGHT SIDE
SCHMORLS NODES are seen in various vertebra
POSTERIOR BULGING OF L4-5 DISC minimally indenting the thecal sac and touching the left nerve root.

Now for this I have been asked to take GABASAFE PLUS 75 MG CAPSULE FOR 21 DAYS WHICH ACCORDING TO YOUR ARTICLE is a case of Postherpetic Neuralgia.I just wanted to know whether the treatment prescribed is correct or not.Or else if you could suggest some other treatment.

Waiting for your earliest response

Regards
Amit Suhane

Dear dr. ,
Dont u think the case is more likely of fibromyalgia
or something else than discogenic or facet arthroparhy b'cos the
symptoms are on both upper & lower limbs & even thoracic region . Even
the MRI shows sacralisation ,schmorl nodes which are relatively benign
entities ,though there is slight pressure on left nerve root with disc
bulge which might be contributing to the symptoms on lower back and
legs but then again the symptoms are more prominent on right side of
the body.
Is it possible that along with medication the guy may
benefit from physical therapy & behavioral therapy.
But to conclude it is not fair to assign
any diagnosis & treatment only on the basis if this much info
available considering the severity of symptoms. Specially clinical
examination would have been of real help....
Whats ur take on that as well as the other
members of the group.
