A friend and fellow programmer passed away due to critical injuries received from a moto accident. He was riding up in the canyons and a car pulled out in front of him. We work in a pretty small and tight knit group of people. It is a tragedy to see one of our own go.

My sincere condolences to you, as well as your friends loved ones. Since this is a small community, I/we may have known your friend (especially if he was in CG), Is there an obit you can point us to?
Love, Wook

Got word this morning that they took him off the ventilator around midnight last night. He was gone in about half an hour.
Mike was a good friend and as Matt mentioned, an awesome guy. He quit EA and went to Insomniac a year and a half or so ago so he could work closer to home and spend more time with his wife.
He and another friend were coming back into Canyon Country from an easy Sunday ride on Soledad Canyon. They were just in the residential area after you go under the 14 and someone in a 4-door F150 didn't see him and turned left. Mike didn't have time to hit the brakes before he hit the frame between the doors. He was wearing a full-face helmet. The speed limit on that street is 50mph and they were going close to that. The driver took a blood test that came back negative for any substance, there was no funny business, it was simply a tragic, tragic accident.
There's some talk about a vigil, but no concrete plans yet that I know of. My heart goes out to his family.
