I just brought a BR-Z to start drifting in. We'll see how solid a decision that was (i.e. should I have purchased a $1500 car that I can put into a wall or lamp post without crying)...

How do you like it so far?  I've been tempted to make that my next car.

The convertible concept looks nice too

A friend of mine has a 240z, S13 with a Skyline RB25, dual cam turbo.

He decided I drive better than he does.

Giving serious consideration to being competitive.

I'm only ~300 miles in and much of that was a trip from Berkeley to Monterey return. Thus far, I love it. It offers incredible value and was designed by smart people who like to drive. It feels like 'a real sports car' rather than an econobox tarted up to be sporty. I'm looking forward to finding a large parking lot and spending some time going sideways.

The limited equipment level offers a trim level that would cost somewhere in the window of 8K in BMWland. HIDs, fog, LED daylight, 'comfort access' keyless, anthracite headliner, nav ('tooth, usb/iphone, fm traffic, hd radio, aharadio support and so on - std on both Subaru models), heated leather alcantra seats and so on.

I'm also excited to see Ohlins has recently released a suspension setup for the car. Yes, 3K+ is a lot to spend on a ~26K car's suspension. However, every bike I've owned that has had an Ohlins rear on it has been magically transformed once equipped. I'm following the threads and keen to get a ride in SF or LA in someone's car to see if an Ohlins BR-Z has the elusive rebound dampening, unflappable mid-corner stance and yet maintains compliance. Dare to dream.
