JavaScript Frameworks, A 2 Part Series

Part I: Client-side JavaScript, Monday, November 9 @ 7pm
Part II: Server-side JavaScript / All-in-one solutions, Monday, December 14 @ 7pm

There is a lot of innovation occurring today surrounding JavaScript and this 2 part series will be a great starting point! Beginners and advanced developers will benefit from these next two talks as they will be covering more high level ideas, momentums within the space, and will focus less on actual implementation. The idea here is to expose you to some cool new JavaScript frameworks and ideas you may not know exist to get you thinking about JavaScript's potential.

More than likely we will be covering a framework or concept within JavaScript that you are unfamiliar with, and as always we hope to learn from each other, so bring your own ideas!

Discussions will cover the basic libraries and frameworks: jQuery, dojo, prototype, MooTools, YUI, Ext.js, in addition to their overall structures, philosophies, and more advanced JavaScript frameworks you may not be familiar with such as Persevere, Spry, NodeJS, Jaxer in addition to other server-side JavaScript frameworks, and even topics like dojo's data model which hides the difference between local storage, Ajax, and Comet from the implementor.

This will be a high level discussion of JavaScript frameworks and members are encouraged to bring their own ideas, questions and any cool new frameworks not mentioned here they'd wish to discuss!

NO JAVASCRIPT CODE GENERATORS (GWT) WILL BE DISCUSSED, AND AS ALWAYS WE ENCOURAGE MEMBERS TO AVOID TOPICS UNRELATED TO JAVASCRIPT AS THIS IS A JAVASCRIPT GROUP.

I love the Londoner, but how good of a location is it?  It seems it would be pretty loud.

You are possibly right. However, I have had a great many excellent conversations there and since the group is still small and it's been a busy month for me and I have not had enough time to properly secure a better venue. By 2010, I'll have secured a more permanent venue.

I hope to see you there!

As a side note, the high Monday is around 75 with a low around 60, so it should be 65-70 @ 7 so outside is looking nice.
