Hello Cytoscapers -

We're very pleased and excited to formally release Cytoscape v3.0.1, effective immediately!

We encourage you to give it a try!

This release marks the General Availability of Cytoscape v3, an event that has been over two years in the making.

We now encourage new users, casual users, and power users to download and use Cytoscape v3 going forward.  (The previous release, v3.0.0, was recommended for use mainly by power users.)

To get a copy for yourself, surf to http://cytoscape.org

Before downloading v3.0.1, we urge you to orient yourself by reading our updated Welcome Letter (http://cytoscape.org/cy3_welcome_letter_v8.pdf) and the Release Notes (http://cytoscape.org/releasenotes.html).

V3.0.1 offers numerous reliability and robustness features over v3.0.0, which was released on Feb 1, 2013. It addresses over 100 bugs and issues, many of which were brought to our attention by our Cytoscape early adopters under the February Bug Bounty program – see http://nrnb.org/competitions.html#b-tab for the winners.

You can install v3.0.1 on the same workstation as your existing v2.x and v3.0.0 Cytoscape, and we hope you will decide to use v3.0.1 *instead* of older versions very soon. (Support for v2.x will continue, but will diminish over time.)

Tell all your friends ... THIS IS BIG NEWS!!
