Optimal storage conditions for molecular probes

Hi guys will members advise us on the correct storage conditions for
molecular probes utilized in F.I.S.H studies.
I am getting conflicting advice from vendors selling the same product!
I am Most interested in storage temp and if they require store in air-
tight container or in the dark?
At a recent meeting with other labs there was marked differences of
opinion express on this topic. PLease help. thx

Hello Elianne,

We use DNA probes ready-to-use, and store them in the -20 freezer in a black container, as it is recommended in the insrtuction. I've heard that light is not so critical, but we  use the same probe for a long time and prefer darkness.

Hello Elianne,

 

storage at -20 deg Celcius  is optimal for most of the probes, however please follow the storage instructions printed on the probe vials.
