Not sure if I can include an image or not.
If so, anybody tell me what the little bird in front of the cuckoo is?

If you can't see the images, then I guess it's another LBJ - warblers are not my strong point!

Hi Ray,
The picture isn't the clearest, but it looks like a probable Common Chiffchaff. Their behavior is relatively easy to recognize because they don't skulk much, and I frequently see them fly out from the bush or tree to grab insects for food and come back to the original bush or tree, and they flick their tails subtly but often. Or at least that's how I'd describe Chiffchaff.

Hi Ray and Dan

I agree, it does look very much like a Chiffchaff. Ray, did you hear any slurred almost single hweet call? This often alerts me to their presence feeding in the bushes, trees and undergrowth. They always seem to move easily through the undergrowth and branches without the jerky leaps of Great Tit. As Dan say, their tail bobbing down helps with the identification.

All the best

June

Thanks June and Dan

First I saw of the bird was when I downloaded the pictures of the GSC. In my excitement of seeing that, I never even noticed it there!
Looking at it again, I think you're probably right.

Saw a swallow again in Goudi today after the rain stopped. Might be the same one that I saw last week.

Cheers

Ray
