Yes, it's time again for BIKE CAMPING!
Join us this weekend at Oxbow Regional Park!
We'll be riding from Voodoo Too at NE 15th & Davis (just off Sandy Blvd) and riding 31 miles, mostly on the Springwater Corridor and some low-traffic roads to Oxbow Regional Park to do some off-season camping by bike along the Sandy River nestled next to some old-growth forest in an area filled with local wildlife.
Where: Voodoo Doughnut Too (1501 NE Davis St)
When: Saturday, March 10th @9am (departure time 9:30am)
Returning Sunday, March 11th starting about noon - ETA return 4pm
Route: http://bikeroutetoaster.com/Course.aspx?course=359838
Weather Forecast: http://tinyurl.com/oxbowweather
(forecast is high 50, low 42, chance of showers)
Cycle Wild does not charge anything for the camping trips we lead, but riders are responsible for their individual park fees, etc.
What do I need to pay? A campsite runs $20 per night for up to 6. Should be $3-7 per person. $5 for firewood, $1-2 for showers (showers @ Oxbow take quarters)
What do I need to bring? Tent, Sleeping Bag, Food, Clothes - the usual, and a towel and quarters if you plan to use the showers.
What else should I know? Oxbow has pay showers, not free like the state parks. Oxbow has some great hiking trails, some through ancient old-growth forest. We should get there about 1pm, so we'll have time to enjoy them. Oxbow Park does not permit alcohol or pets - sorry!
We may make a food stop along the way if the group wishes to, but we recommend on this trip bringing food for the trip with you to the starting point. Each individual is responsible for bringing their own food.
