I went ahead and did it. I started a bike friendly movement in my home
town.

Because BFOC has so much momentum, I decided to catch a little bit of
their wave.

BFR is geared towards of safe, non-sports riding and will be open to
ALL perspectives on infrastructure and advocacy.

The site, although up right now, will officially launch on December 1.
I'm even hosting a casual group ride around some quiet neighborhood
streets to kick it off. Of course, all of you are more than welcome to
join.

That's great! I read about BFR on the Oak Cliff blog. I've added a
link on my blog to BFR and to NEA Bicycle Coalition.

I wonder what it would take to start a Bike Friendly Wedgewood, eh,
Myles?

I'm afraid that we'd be the only members.

Hey guys, don't forget that BFR's Black Friday ride is tomorrow
morning. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it, but maybe some of
you Dallas area guys can.

Thanks for the bump. The ride went really well, and I have a new
respect for you and all those who put together group rides.

We have our work cut out for us. I'm glad I have a group of friends
over here for support and guidance.

It gets easier with experience. Fun makes it a lot easier, too.
Remember that if it's you doing the organizing to please yourself, too.

I went on the ride.  I thought it had a good turn out for the time of day.  I especially liked the fact that there were BFR signs at every turning spot.  Very well thought out, and about the right distance for an introductory ride.  Everyone seemed to enjoy the Starbucks stop.  It gave people time to chat and get acquainted. There were people on this ride that I had not seen on either the Babble ride or the BFOC rides  Very nice !!!!
