I do this all the time. Either:

$ java -jar install-curn-3.2.7.jar

which will use the Swing UI, or:

$ java -jar install-curn-3.2.7.jar -console

which will use command-line prompts, without requiring X Windows.

Note that both the GUI and the command line installer interfaces are provided
by the IzPack library that I use to build curn's installer. I have little
control over them.
