It's the Economy, Right?
|
| |
Everyone cries it's the economy. Bailout, unemployment, high-low-high again fuel prices, jobs exported—where does it end? Not with who's next in the White House, but who reigns in our houses. Of all of God's instructions, one says "test me in this." Not trust me, but test me. See if you can out give God. We will change presidents... more »

Fw: Bottle of Wine
|
| |
I have a strongly feminist daughter, a graduate of Duke University magna cum laude and Princeton Seminary, who is a very independent thinker, and occasionally sends me unusual items. They often stimulate thought, or laughter, or both. See if this does either for you. THE BOTTLE OF WINE Mary was driving home from one of her business trips in Northern Arizona when she saw an elderly Navajo woman walking on the side of a long empty stretch of road. She stopped the car and asked the Navajo woman if she would like a ride.... more »

Listers; John's questions about advantages and disadvantages sparked another thought in me. In E. Tenn Presbytery we just had a church change its name to one which has no mention in any form or fashion to being "Cumberland" or Presbyterian in signage, stationary or even a small label or sticker on a doorway. I personally have no problem with Cumberland not being part of tje public name and depending on one's location there can be advantages to having as to not having that as we all have demonstrated time and again in past discussion (and I do not want this thread to be that discussion)... more »

Fw: Cumberlist: Re: Fw: The missing money
|
| |
Debbie: I failed to mention that I am responsible for a checking account, some Money Market accounts, three CDs, and one account in Memphis. This is why it took several weeks to do an audit this year. Some of this money is designated for NCD work and some is not. Auditors have to make sure that I have not paid for something out of a fund that it should not go for.... more »
