I got this from a dear friend today. I do not know the truth of this, but it sure made me think. Maybe we all need to get a clearer picture of what Islam is really all about.

The author of this story is named Rick Mathes, and is a well-known leader in prison ministry.
The Muslim religion is the fastest growing religion per capita in the United States, especially in the minority races!!!
Last month I attended my annual training session that's required for maintaining my state prison security clearance. During the training session there was a presentation by three speakers representing the Roman Catholic, Protestant and Muslim faiths, who explained each of their beliefs.
I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam had to say. The Imam gave a great presentation of the basics of Islam, complete with a video.
After the presentations, time was provided for questions and answers.
When it was my turn, I directed my question to the Imam and asked: 'Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that most Imams and clerics of Islam have declared a holy jihad [Holy war] against the infidels of the world and, that by killing an infidel, (which is a command to all Muslims) they are assured of a place in heaven. If that's the case, can you give me the definition of an infidel?'
There was no disagreement with my statements and, without hesitation, he replied, 'Non-believers!'
I responded, 'So, let me make sure I have this straight. All followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of your faith so they can have a place in heaven. Is that correct?'
The expression on his face changed from one of authority and command to that of a little boy who had just been caught with his hand in the cookie jar. He sheepishly replied, 'Yes.'
I then stated, 'Well, sir, I have a real problem trying to imagine Pope John Paul commanding all Catholics to kill those of your faith or Dr. Stanley ordering all Protestants to do the same in order to guarantee them a place in heaven!' The Imam was speechless!
I continued, 'I also have a problem with being your friend when you and your brother clerics are telling your followers to kill me!
Let me ask you a question: Would you rather have your Allah, who tells you to kill me in order for you to go to heaven, or my Jesus who tells me to love you because I am going to heaven and He wants you to be there with me?'
You could have heard a pin drop as the Imam hung his head in shame.
Needless to say, the organizers and/or promoters of the Diversification training seminar were not happy with my way of dealing with the Islamic Imam, and exposing the truth about the Muslims' beliefs.
In twenty years there will be enough Muslim voters in the U.S. to elect the President!
Christians had better get busy with winning the lost to Jesus Christ..
I think the important thing to recognize here is the hung head of the Islamic cleric. Many western Muslims are very uncomfortable with what is going on in their own faith. It presents us with an opportunity to share the love that is the cornerstone of our faith.
Actually, we very much should be their friends. That's what Jesus would have us to do.

I have been studying Islam some recently. There is more truth that fiction in the article. I know there are many different sects involved in Islam, and all are somewhat different, but I still feel we need to take our faith, as Christians, more seriously, as well as try to get a clearer picture of Islam as a whole. You notice that even Snopes says that this is a "mixture" of truth. I did not mean to condemn anyone, just said that this made me think.
Islam is growing at a much faster pace than Christianity around the world. This should concern us all. Jesus told us to make disciples - not friends - of those of another faith. You see, I am still conservative enough to believe that Jesus Christ is the way to salvation - not Mohammed.

Christians had better get busy with winning the lost to Jesus Christ..
The person that was most instrumental in bringing me to Christ was not my friend. In fact the person that led me to Christ was a total stranger to me. However, he did share the word of God with me, informing me that I was a sinner and that Christ sacrificed himself for my sin and I could be a Christian if I could believe that Jesus was the Christ. I did believe and then and there confessed my sin and became a Christian. Friendship had nothing to do with that memorial day in my life. It was the word of God that convicted me and brought me to repentance.
The Christian community must get away from this philosophy, "of you're O.K., I"m O.K..
The only way to be O.K. is follow the instructions in God's Holy Word. " Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life, No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6
Universal Religion: Since all is God, then only one reality exist, and all religions are simply different paths to that ultimate reality. The universal religion can be visualized as a mountain, with many sadanas (spiritual paths) to the summit. Some are hard; others easy. There is no one correct path. All paths eventually reach the top. They anticipate that a new universal religion which contains elements of all current faiths will evolve and become generally accepted worldwide. Not true according to John 14:6 and other passages.
Islam:
Most Muslims accept as a Muslim anyone who has publicly pronounced the Shahadah (decleration of faith) which states,
Ash-hadu an laa ilaha illa-lah Wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan rasulullah
"I bear witness there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and I bear witness, Muhammad is His final messenger". Not true according the Holy Bible.
I am sure some on the list will pick this to pieces and find much fault with what I say. However, I am an old man and have lived all my life according to the teachings of the Holy Bible and I plan to stand by it's teachings until I meet my maker. Please forgive me if I sound rude, all I want to do is help us to remember that God's word is still the only authority for us Christians.

Islam is growing at a much faster pace than Christianity around the world. This should concern us all. Jesus told us to make disciples - not friends - of those of another faith. You see, I am still conservative enough to believe that Jesus Christ is the way to salvation - not Mohammed.

Muslim Belief

My genuine thanks is sent to Mr. Greenwell, for sharing his convictions with the Cumberlist.
I have been told that many of the comments on the Cumberlist do not represent the beliefs of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, but I sincerely hope that Mr. Greenwell's thoughts do. They were clearly stated, and I believe the Holy Sprit lead in every thought he shared.

The person that was most instrumental in bringing me to Christ was not my
friend. In fact the person that led me to Christ was a total stranger to
me. However, he did share the word of God with me, informing me that I was a sinner and that Christ sacrificed himself for my sin and I could be a
Christian if I could believe that Jesus was the Christ. I did believe and then and there confessed my sin and became a Christian. Friendship had nothing to do with that memorial day in my life. It was the word of God that convicted me and brought me to repentance. The Christian community must get away from this philosophy, "of you're
O.K., I"m O.K.. The only way to be O.K. is follow the instructions in God's Holy Word. "Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life, No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6 Universal Religion: Since all is God, then only one reality exist, and all religions are simply different paths to that ultimate reality. Not true according to John 14:6
and other passages. Islam: Most Muslims accept as a Muslim anyone who has publicly pronounced the
Shahadah (decleration of faith) which states,
Ash-hadu an laa ilaha illa-lah Wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan rasulullah "I bear witness there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and I bear witness, Muhammad is His final messenger". Not true according the Holy Bible. I am sure some on the list will pick this to pieces and find much fault
with what I say. However, I am an old man and have lived all my life
according to the teachings of the Holy Bible and I plan to stand by it's teachings until I meet my maker. Please forgive me if I sound rude, all I want to do is help us to remember that God's word is still the only authority for us Christians. J. C. Greenwell

"...If anyone killed a person not in retaliation for murder or to
spread mischief in the land, it would be as if he killed the whole of
mankind. And if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the
whole of mankind" (Surah Al-Maaida 5:32)
"Fight for the sake of God those that fight against you, but do not
attack them first. God does not love the aggressors." (Koran 2:190)
I suspect that, like the Bible, just about any point can be made with
the Koran depending on what you decide to quote.

"...If anyone killed a person not in retaliation for murder or to spread mischief in the land, it would be as if he killed the whole of mankind. And if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the whole of mankind" (Surah Al-Maaida 5:32)
"Fight for the sake of God those that fight against you, but do not attack them first. God does not love the aggressors." (Koran 2:190)
I suspect that, like the Bible, just about any point can be made with the Koran depending on what you decide to quote.

I got this from a dear friend today. I do not know the truth of this, but it sure made me think. Maybe we all need to get a clearer picture of what Islam is really all about.

Muslim Belief
The author of this story is named Rick Mathes, and is a well-known leader in
prison ministry.
The Muslim religion is the fastest growing religion per capita in the
United States, especially in the minority races!!!
Last month I attended my annual training session that's required for
maintaining my state prison security clearance. During the training
session there was a presentation by three speakers representing the Roman
Catholic, Protestant and Muslim faiths, who explained each of their
beliefs.
I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam had to say. The
Imam gave a great presentation of the basics of Islam, complete with a
video.
After the presentations, time was provided for questions and answers.
When it was my turn, I directed my question to the Imam and asked: 'Please,
correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that most Imams and clerics of
Islam have declared a holy jihad [Holy war] against the infidels of the
world and, that by killing an infidel, (which is a command to all Muslims)
they are assured of a place in heaven. If that's the case, can you give me
the definition of an infidel?'
There was no disagreement with my statements and, without hesitation, he
replied, 'Non-believers!'
I responded, 'So, let me make sure I have this straight. All followers of
Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of your faith so they
can have a place in heaven. Is that correct?'
The expression on his face changed from one of authority and command to
that of a little boy who had just been caught with his hand in the cookie
jar. He sheepishly replied, 'Yes.'
I then stated, 'Well, sir, I have a real problem trying to imagine Pope
John Paul commanding all Catholics to kill those of your faith or Dr.
Stanley ordering all Protestants to do the same in order to guarantee them
a place in heaven!' The Imam was speechless!
I continued, 'I also have a problem with being your friend when you and
your brother clerics are telling your followers to kill me!
Let me ask you a question: Would you rather have your Allah, who tells you
to kill me in order for you to go to heaven, or my Jesus who tells me to
love you because I am going to heaven and He wants you to be there with
me?'
You could have heard a pin drop as the Imam hung his head in shame.
Needless to say, the organizers and/or promoters of the Diversification
training seminar were not happy with my way of dealing with the Islamic
Imam, and exposing the truth about the Muslims' beliefs.
In twenty years there will be enough Muslim voters in the U.S. to elect the
President!
Christians had better get busy with winning the lost to Jesus Christ..
If we do not let them know we are friendly why would they want to know us and about our faith if we avoid them. If they can not see our love of a person how can they be attracted to us to know we have something (Someone) in our life that is different and worth seeking. That is just my view. We are called to love people not all there action and believe but love and God's love SHOULD shine through us so they would ask questions about where our love and joy comes from. God is Love. Just my understanding, but some would think I am simple minded.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, & self-control. Gal. 5:22

Sure. I admire you as well. We actually agree on more than we disagree on, and one thing we certainly agree on is that it is admirable to have the courage of one's convictions.

In twenty years there will be enough Muslim voters in the U.S. to elect the
President!

Gal. 5:22

I suspect that, like the Bible, just about any point can be made with
