Posting a new topic

Hi

I recently joined this group but cant post a new topic - the new topic button is greyed out. Do you perhaps know why this is - does my membership need to be approved first?

I think this was because we have "Allow users to post to the group on
the web" unchecked in the group settings. Does anyone remember why
that is or should I enable it?

We disabled after we had a spate of spam meesages posted via the web
interface a couple of years ago, which annoyingly did not go through
the "new poster" moderation queue. I've seen nothing to indicate that
google groups have changed how that works, so I'm against re-enabling
the option.
