Hi all

Has any one used the akka framework for asynch and concurrent processing rather than the jms?

If you have, please could you advise accordingly.

Many thanks

Hi Adhir,

Haven't worked with the akka framework before.  Why don't you additionally ask your question at the South Africa Scala user group: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/south-africa-scala-user-group

Wouldn't the akka framework be focused on concurrent processing (ie multiple threads on the same machine) and JMS a building block for message orientated middleware (architectural approach in a distributed environment)

If you don't want to implement JMS initially wouldn't implementing say an event queue in a database table and kicking of threads based on these persisted events give you the same behavior?

Kind regards,
Serdyn
