Subject: Jvm crash
Hi All,

I have been struggling with a JVM crash after the app has been used a while (Exception access violation) the app interfaces with few devices.

Please advise

I could not put the h(xxx).log file it is quite big and has a lot of address lines,

I have increased the heap size and perm size but the crash still occurs i.e ( jvm _args: -Xms512 -Xmx1024m --XX:MaxPermSize=128m --XX:PermSize=64)

Regards
Zuko Sapula

Hi Zuko,

What version of the JVM are you currently running? Is it running on
Windows/Linux/OSX? Is this running on a dedicated server, or on your own
machine? If on Windows, this could be caused by an Anti-virus program and
sometimes Adobe Flash.

What devices is the application using?

Best Regards,
Craig Newton

It's a native code bug, so probably in the C library for the printer or scanner.

Try have a look at ntdll.dll and see if you can get a more up-to-date version.

Also, Java 5 is end-of-life.  I would recommend using Java 6 if possible.  But that's not the problem here :-)

I had a similar issue when using the EPSON TM-T88IV POS Printer. I
downloaded the updated drivers for the printer and uninstalled the old
drivers. Work fine with our jPos implementation and does not crash.
