I've released 5.18 which resolves this issue and hopefully makes the code
more resilient. The demo version has been updated on the site. Paid
customers can email me at my csvreader.com email address and request a
download link if they would like the latest version.
Bruce Dunwiddie

 I see the issue. What a pain. MS made an ever so slight change in the file
format/content. I have a path for a fix, but I should apply the fix more
globally across the code to make it more resilient to related types of
changes. I should have a new version built within the next week or so. I'll
reply back when I'm done. Thank you for reporting the issue.

 The original values are .05, .1, 0, etc. You have to remember that 10% is
0.1, i.e. 1/10. No, there's currently no way to access the formatting
directly or access the value as it has been formatted using
SpreadsheetReader. My focus with these objects was to be able to access
data, not values for display purposes. The values are stored internally

 Hi,
I faced the issue when I read XLS files include cells formated as
"Percentage".
In a file I have values like: 5%, 10%, 0%
But when I access to the cells from SpreadsheetReader I see values like:
0.05, 0.1, 0 instead.
How I can see from SpreadsheetReader the original values or something like:
5, 10, 0?

 You just have to use one of the constructor overloads that allows you to
pass in the UTF-8 Charset, [link] .
Bruce Dunwiddie

 Hi, i am using javacsv.jar file for javacsvReader class. But, it does not
support UTF-8 files.I think the problem is with this code in CsvReader.java:
public CsvReader(String paramString, char paramChar)
throws FileNotFoundException
{
this(paramString, paramChar, Charset.forName("ISO-8859-1")) ;

 That's pretty strange. Internally, CsvWriter is wrapping a StreamWriter
around the Stream object that you're passing into the constructor, and then
making calls to Write on the StreamWriter. I THOUGHT StreamWriter did some
kind of internal management and eventually flushed. Apparently I was wrong.

 We're using the CsvWriter to stream the content of the file to a http
server to be uploaded into SQL, this works fine for relatively small files
but when we try to do the same thing with a large file with 2 million
records, the CsvWriter.Write blows out with out of memory exception, below
is a code snippet
