John arrived at Duke today, room 4124. They are planning for the first

I tried to see John today while I was at the VA across the street but
Duke isn't allowing any visitors unless they are immediate family due
to their policy controlling all patients exposure to HINI virus. I
spoke to him on the hospital's house phone and he sounds great though
he said his physical problems that are putting off surgery aren't
resolved yet. He did say he expected to be there for about another
two weeks.

His address for get well cards, strippers disguised as nurses, etc.
is:

Room 4124, Duke Hospital
2301 Erwin Rd.
Durham, NC 27710

John is at Duke and had his first surgery today (pelvis and one hip). He is
no longer in traction and is more comfortable. They expect he will be
released in 10 days or so and will be going to a rehab center. After a
couple of weeks there, he may be able to go home in a wheelchair. His son
has built a ramp for the wheelchair. In the future, he will have to get a
hip replacement. It is great to see progress being made. We may see him as
a visitor at a DZ soon.
