Rebecca walked into Environmental Control and sees Drake there, working on repairs:: Need any help?

Drake, sitting down beside one of the rear control panels, was working on gutting one of the consoles that had been acting up. Upon seeing that Ensign walk through the door he looked over and then continued his work while talking and listening. "Ensign, nice of you to join me. Sure, give me a hand here. We can talk about your assignment here on the Enterprise." He handed her parts of the computer.

She took the parts and walked up beside him. "Good...been lookin for a way to get my hands dirty so to speak." she said with a chuckle as she helped Drake.

A smile came across his face which had patches of black on it from working within the computer. He hadn't much realized his uniform shared the same misfortune. "Excellent, that's what I like to hear! We may need to replicate a new processor, that one doesn't look like its in very good condition... So. Why Enterprise, Ensign?" Drake continued to work as he talked.

She chuckled, nodding. "Who wouldnt want to be on this ship Sir?" she said as she handed him parts as he asked for them, looking around him at what he was working on.

Drake nodded his head as she responded giving physical feedback. "She definitely is special. I came aboard months ago straight from the academy. This has come to be my home." Tristan's eyes caught a glimmer coming from the Ensign and he shifted his attention to the ring in which it came. He turned his attention back to work in an attempt to get the main circuit junction working. "I see you are engaged?"

She nodded, smiling. "That I am Sir." she said as she looked at what he was doing. "What are you doing exactly?" she asked, intrigued.

"Well, congratulations! That's excellent news." He smiled as she continued to ask what he was doing tearing apart half the console. "Well. This console is notorious around here as the most stubborn. It decided to die on me during a routine diagnostic so I figured if it wanted to be difficult I would return the favor."

She nodded, leaning down, "Most console are..." she said laughing as she helped him fix it.

Drake returned the laugh. "That they are, Ensign. Have you been informed of your duties yet by the the XO or the CO?"

She shook her head, "No.....well, sort of. Its kind of my first assignment Sir." she said looking over at him. "On a ship anyway."

Drake glanced over. "No kidding? I couldn't tell the difference. As you have probably noticed I like to keep things semi-formal, I like to keep things fun while accomplishing our common goals. The Enterprise operations team is one of the best in the fleet. We handle just about everything around here that has to do with starship operations. We also act as a liaison between the bridge and engineering as well as help the science department with their endeavors. Ensign Young is a fellow assistant of mine as well as a good friend. You should speak with her when you have the time."

She smirked, "Then perhaps youd like to be on a first name basis Sir." she said looking at him then back at the console he was working on and nodded, "I will try."

"First name basis will be fine with the exception of when we are on the bridge." He nodded and smiled. "Well, excellent. I think you should fit right in with our little group. Do you have any questions?"

She shook her head, "No...I think I can handle it. And the name is Rebecca. And you are?" she asked.

"Tristan." He said extending his hand for a hand shake. "Remember if there is anything you need day or night just let me know. Ensign Young is at your disposal as well. You will be joining alpha shift so be sure and get plenty of sleep!"

She shook the man's hand and nodded, "I will do that." she said  with a chuckle as she released his hand.

Tristan gave a final smile and grabbed the broken processor from the pile he had given her. "Alright, first order of business. Let me show you where to replicate a new processor."

She nodded, "Alright." she said following him.

"Excellent." The two operations officers having finally met exited environmental control and made their way to replicate the new processor.
