A PERSON IS DIRECTOR IN A COMAPNY W.E.F 2008 AND NOW HE WANTS TO RESIGN FROM THAT COMPANY BACKDATED I.E. 2009.
I FILE DIR-12 FOR THAT.
SHOULD I FILE DIR-11 FOR THAT TOO?
AS PER COMPANIES ACT 1956 THERE IS NO NEED TO FILE RESIGNATION. PLEASE HELP ME OUT

A director cannot resign backdated. He has been a part of all decisions made by Board of Directors till date and now he wants to resign and wants to keep away from all the decisions made during the last 6 years. Officially he has attended all the AGMs and many or all the Board meetings. Now he wants to resign back dated. In my opinion, this can't be done.

Does this mean that he gave a resignation letter in 2009 but was kept in a drawer and not discussed in any board meeting till date? Or
Does it mean that he gives a resignation letter now that he does not want to be associated with the company since 2009.
