I was wondering if there is any documentation on how to successfully
make the best out of cslagenerator events. A simple example would
really help!
I have handled events before, but in this case i am not sure where to
start. I am using vb .net 3.5 templates.

In 3.x it is much much simpler. There's a bunch of commented out
partial methods in the non-designer file. Uncomment the ones you need
to use and that's about it. There are no events really, just partial
methods, which removes the complexity we used to have. Even more, the
argument has pretty much everything you need: connection, command,
datareader, parent, etc...
