New to CRVO - question about floaters
|
| |
Hi everyone,
I am 37 years old female. I started seeing weird things, like white
clouds about a month ago. I was referred to an oftalmologist who said
there was a blockage and to wait a month to clear. They did blood
tests and everything came back normal, except for a cell that is
normally present when you have a lot of allergies...I had a lot of... more »

Discouraged and Depressed
|
| |
It was a really bad day, so if you are not in the mood for whining,
back away from this post.
I had my Avastin injection a week and a half ago. I called the RS on
Wednesday because I was seeing little to no improvement in my vision
and no relief of my pain. They suggested that I switch to 800mg of... more »

My Up-Date and Results !
|
| |
But first let me explain that my R/S wanted me to come in yesterday
when I called him because this sounded very serious. But I had no way
to get there and since my appmnt. was for today , I wanted to hold
off. Well today I went as scheduled and here is what he found... The
veins inside my eye were growing much more rapidly than normal to... more »

Now What ? (not funny)
|
| |
I was talked into it and went camping this past Thursday / Friday. A
bit uncomfortable but I survived... but Saturday when I got home, it
felt like my eye was beginning to throb. By Sunday, the throbbing
became very severe and somewhat painful. Yesterday, Monday, it felt as
though the back of my eye was being squeezed with a pair of vise grips... more »

Vitamin D
|
| |
Low or deficient Vitamin D has become epidemic in recent years,
probably due to the misguided notion that sunlight is dangerous, and
that we should all be smearing our bodies with the toxic chemicals in
sunblock. The lack of sufficient Vitamin D can create havoc with
every system within the body. It has been linked to many diseases,... more »

Pain
|
| |
From reading here, it seems that most people do not have pain with
their occlusions. I'm one of the "lucky ones" who does, but I know
that I'm not the only one out there.
My doctor told me to take advil or aleve daily to help reduce the
inflammation and pain, but since my last injection on Tuesday, the... more »

Pre-op visit
|
| |
Had my pre-op visit this past Thursday, for my Vitrectomy & membrane
peel. Doc said eye looking so much better - so good that he almost
considered cancelling my surgery. God is GOOD!
Last visit (which was a 6-week appt) my OCT was back up to 604, vision
@ 20/160 & membrane was cauing quite a bit of traction - which... more »

Update on my CRVO
|
| |
Been a while, so here is my update. I have a sudden CRVO back in Jan.
Vision was 20/40. Dr. decided to wait and see. It improved slightly
but went down hill quickly. Two months later my vision was 20/60. My
regular RS was unavailable so saw a new one. She was shocked he didn't
do any treatment. She gave me a shot of Avastin. The shot wasn't bad... more »

Hair loss
|
| |
Hello all,
I know the subject of hair loss from the Avastin injections must have
been discussed somewhere on this forum I just can't seem to find it.
I've had 11 injections, one just about every 5 weeks for the last year
and a half. It is a chemotherapy drug after all and although a small
amount is given, and I'm not finding clumps of hair in the sink, I... more »

My 1st Follow up Appointment
|
| |
I had an appointment today at the hospital. My first follow up 2
months on from my vein occlusion. Thanks to this group, i went armed
with lots of questions (and much more knowledge!). The doctors were
really helpful and the visit threw up a couple of unexpected things.
First, after my pupil was dilated, they confirmed, i DONT have Hemi as... more »
