Subject: Zemanta now suggests CrunchBase links
Zemanta's new release now supports automatic linking to full
CrunchBase dataset.

While you write your blog your text is analyzed and if you mention
people or companies from CrunchBase, you will get suggestions of links
and suggestions of logos/portraits. This is the simplest way to get
your posts enhanced with CrunchBase content.

Zemanta is available both as FireFox and IE extension and as plugin
for Wodpress, MovableType, Drupal and LiveWriter at http://www.zemanta.com

For developers: Zemanta API can be used to convert plain text to
structured information. With entities resolved to their CrunchBase,
Wikipedia and Freebase identifiers. This is an easy way to enter
semantic world if you only have plain text currently.

We are eager to hear if people find this useful and what more people
would expect from the application and an API. We would like to improve
API in the direction where developers can use it for kick-starting
their mash-ups, so feedback is welcome.

Have a nice day
Andraz Tori, CTO at Zemanta

Looks awesome Andraz!

I will try it out shortly. Is there any difference in functionality
between, for instance, the Firefox extension and the Wordpress plugin?

Great job supporting so many different platforms/environments by the
way. That must have been more than a pain to implement and support.

Hi,

the only difference is that LiveWriter version does not support
suggestions of tags (WLW arhitecture is very rigid, we hacked it very
far, but really couldn't get tags working).

Otherwise all versions run the same rich Javascript user interface
(including Live Writer). API is available to anyone that wants to
create different experience or a mash-up. I hope this is the easiest
way to get from plain text to structured crunchbase data.

We are really eager to get feedback on both the UI and the suggestions
we give, so we will know in which direction we have to improve.

Bye
Andraz Tori, Zemanta
