Hi,

As and when I am trying to install new theme from admin panel it shows an error, invalid theme. I am uploading zip file.
I have created the file structure same as described in documentation with theme.yml file.

I have also tried to put my theme folder under view/themed directly and try to access but no effect.

Please suggest what to do to resolve this.

Thanks
Dipak

Hi,

the reason is probably because you're trying to install an outdated theme with a newer version of croogo. The older versions had folders named all in small-caps, e.g. views, layouts, nodes, etc. The actual version have Views, Layouts, Elements, ... Also the theme.yml has been replaced for theme.json with a slightly different structure.

So if this is the problem but you want to use that theme, you could try to update it yourself, renaming the folder-structure and renaming/updating theme.yml to the newer theme.json/structure (I took a theme as an example to have a reference while updating the old one) ...  i'm not sure if you would have to rename other things too. I did all this a while ago, and don't remember all the details, but it wasn't too hard and it was worth the trouble ;-)

Andrea

Hi,

it's dificult to say exactly why you're getting the error. But you're definitely using a variable 'layout' on line 6 of your default.ctp which is being taken for an object with a meta() method but is not.

Normally you can access the Layout object from Helpers and Co. with $this->Layout so you might try to use Layout instead of layout.

If that doesn't help, you should post the line causing the problem with +- 10 Lines of context or even a whole function block together with the error.

Regards
Andrea

Chances are you're using an incompatible theme ... which version of Croogo are you using and which theme are you using?

Hi,

I am also new to Croogo. The same error occured during theme installation for me also.

"Notice (8): Undefined variable: theme [APP\Plugin\Extensions\Lib\ExtensionsInstaller.php, line 179]
     please help me."

I made changes in theme.json with correct syntax.

But my problem is, I can able to install the theme. But It is not reflecting in my front end design.
