Description:
A group for cyclists who want to discuss the joys/challenges of being a cyclist in the City of SF. Additionally, it is a source of information about Critical Manners rides. Car drivers are welcome since we all share the road. All I ask is that we keep the discussions civil.

Ride leaders - get a critical manners email
|
| |
Hello,
I bit the bullet and bought a domain for critical manners today,
something I should have done almost three years ago. I'll be moving
this group over to criticalmanners.org over time. Any ride leaders who
would like an @criticalmanners.org email, please send me an email to
re...@criticalmanners.org.... more »

Critical Manners Website?
|
| |
I did some googling and this is the only thing I found even resembling
a website for Critical Manners. I'm in Santa Cruz and I would love to
do something like this. But I've got no idea how to or of any website
or anything. I don't even know if Critical Manners is a real group or
just an event =|... more »

2nd Annual Tweed Ride
|
| |
[link]
Don't know if there's substance to match the style, but apparently the
2nd annual Tweed Ride is scheduled for February 12 in SF. It looks
mannerly. Time will tell whether it actually *is* mannerly.

Sorry about the spammers

I know it's annoying for you guys, too, and no one wants to see some
of the stuff they put on here.
Therefore, I'm going to begin moderating posts so we can avoid this
stuff in the future.

expanding, rejuvenating SF Critical Manners
|
| |
I rode for the first time in June, loving the idea and with high
hopes. It was a small (but committed) group that showed up, and we had
a good time. But I'd like to see so much more--more people riding,
ridiculously synchronized hand signals, everyone in bright orange (ok
maybe that's over the top).... more »

{CManners SF:81} Re: Discussion on a-list-of-cities-with-critical -manners-rides

New Yorkers may take it as sarcasm and/or performance art--in which case it should be very popular.
It's also a great way to teach novices safe riding habits.
Questions though: helmets required, right? Do you permit people to participate on non-standard bikes?
As for pinkies out, that was a joke question--how else would you properly drink from a water bottle?... more »

Discussion on a-list-of-cities-with-critical -manners-rides
|

At least the East Coast is on there somewhere.
A shout out to New Yorkers, I would like to form a ride here and think
it should be done on a monthly basis but in various locations--because
who really wants to ride in Manhattan anyway when you've got these
other four awesome boroughs!
