I'm sure you all have better options in mind, but if they don't pan out, don't forget that the public library has wifi. I know the IT manager there and could ask him what meeting room might give us the best reception and see if we can reserve that room.

Thank you! If you wouldn't mind asking your friend, that'd be great. Any branch that would fit would be fine, really. In fact parking might be easier with Meadows or one of those other non-downtown branches.

Thanks Greg! I think we have enough open options now, so hold off. I believe Sophia and the EPIC folks discussed some use of CU as well, but there might be some overhead / lead time on getting the wireless together. Sophia was following up on possible use of the law building which might have standing wireless and not need IT support, but let's see what she has to say later today.

I actually am not sure I'll get a response on the venue. I would look into other options. At the Boulder Library, we could try to book the conference room upstairs. Should I try that?

I have just called the Library - they're booked solid. However, I've just found out that we can use the NCAR Library. It's a gorgeous space with loads of room to work, and a good strong connection. Let me know if you think this would work.

NCAR would be perfect. I've been in groups that have used space there on weekends and it was a really peaceful spot to work. Folks could hit the Southern Sun when it's lunch time. It's a beautiful venue for a walk when anyone needs a break. And parking is free.
Cheers, Alyson

I just got a confirmation from some friends in South Boulder, I'm going to give him a call right now to confirm 100%. It's near Southern Sun... Lots of space, plenty of bandwidth, easy to find, and plenty of free parking. I think this our best option so far, but please speak up if you feel otherwise.
"Lane is making a call to the landlord and it shouldn't be a problem to use the overflow space. On the small chance it's not OK, the 8z/COhomefinder space should be fine by itself. We have ~4000sf, of which more than half could be used. Pretty much anything but the client care and two realtor offices.
We have both Qwest DSL and Comcast cable internet connections with wireless, so bandwidth isn't a problem. With the overflow space, it would be ideal. That's another ~1800sf big open room"

I just read the NCAR thread... that's a great option too. Are we apt to bother people there? If not, I think it's a tossup between the 8z office and NCAR. If anyone has opinions, please state them and we'll make a decision.

There will be no one at NCAR, other than security, hikers, and visiting groups. It's there for us if we decide we want it - just let me know and I'll confirm with the Director.

Although I love being up at NCAR, the COhomefinder location would be more convenient for people who are relying on public transport or who are coming from out of Boulder.
I'd vote for the latter but would be happy either place. So nice to have options!
Thanks for all the work you are doing to make this happen, Alyson

Man - this venue is crawling distance from my place... so I'm extra bummed that I'll be in Cheyenne all day Saturday.. I look forward to good reports, though!
PS - re: the TweekTheTweet - nice picture and video today in the Daily! I'm not actively doing anything with Python code or anything, so when the direction settles down a bit I may be able to jump back in some.

I will be driving up from Parker, CO and willing to pick up others (can fit 4 others) if they need transportation from South Denver. I plan to stay for the entire event. Contact me if you want a ride.
By the way, will the PodCamp event this evening have any connection with the CrisisCamp tomorrow? I want to get up to speed as much as possible as I didn't even know about CrisisCamp until this past Wednesday.
