Hi everyone!

I've been working on a rewrite of the license chooser.  There are a
number of problems with the old chooser than have engendered a
rewrite.  The most notable was confusion in that people were thinking
it was a registration process, since it definitely looks like one.
The new chooser approaches that problem with superior ui design.
Because of this, it also functions better as an educational tool.  For
example, NC and ND are not free culture licenses.  That is apparent in
the new chooser via interactivity, whereas it was not in the old
chooser.

You can read more about the motivations behind this project here:
http://wiki.creativecommons.org/Interactive_license_chooser

In before any major problems, we're hoping to replace the old chooser
with the new interactive chooser in about two weeks.  I will be
iterating on the new chooser after pushing it live, as there are
additional features desired but are out of the scope of the initial
version.  Feel free to suggest tweaks and features, but understand
that some updates may not be appropriate for this iteration.

Also, keep in mind that beyond design overhaul and interactivity,
features not already present in the old chooser are out of scope for
implementation in this development iteration on the new chooser.

You can find the new chooser on our staging site:
http://staging.creativecommons.org/choose/

Thanks,
Jonathan

Ah. This is really good! I like the 'help others attribute you part.'

I just put CC on my site but that was using the old embed code. I
guess I should use this one instead now.

Hi Mark,
The new license chooser wouldn't negate the current one. Also, please wait for the official CC announcement, as it may have more details.

hey share your cc licensed site here!

Cheers
Ivan
