She's back... didya miss me?
Okay the space has been humming while I wasn't looking... awesome job. Clive has gotten his cnc's almost up and running. (Look for a class on them coming soon) Theron is planning for a Makerbot class and Chris did our TALLEST print ever: (http://www.flickr.com/photos/crashspacela/sets/72157624743655412/). Matt just did an EL wire class... just in time for Burning Man & to make your Tron costumes. I tell ya I'm barely up to speed but I'm going to try to whip this out anyway. Apologies, btw, for our website. Media Temple seems to be having some challenges with their wordpress installs. We are mostly all VIMBY challenge all the time this week - all regular events mostly canceled. In case you haven't heard VIMBY and Scion are sponsoring a challenge for a small handful of hackerspaces to get together and "compete" by all completing projects that meet some fairly loosely defined criteria, which of course makes things fun. Our big reveal is going to be August 28th and in true LA style... we're gonna throw a party for it, SO SAVE THE DATE.

Monday, August 23rd 8 PM - Radio Mondays continues... WOOT!

In the future:
Weekend of the 27-29th PACKED if you haven't already left for Burning Man...
Justin rallying people to do the test launch for the hackerspaces in space challenge that weekend, as well as planing a kit night for Radio Mondays that we'll post in the future. He'll post to the discussion list when he knows what day this weekend. If you're interested and not on the discussion list let me know and I'll fwd your info along.
and on SATURDAY AUGUST 28TH we're going to do our big reveal. Starting in the afternoon for the family friendly part, going on until we slink home to sleep... more details to follow.

Saturday from Clive: Mojave air and space port is having their traditional plane crazy event this Saturday. I think Masten and Xcor are gonna be showing off some stuff. Justin, you should go!
I might go pending having a pilot to fly me, or I might just drive up, will probably have two extra spots in the drop top. Should be back in the early evening to work on vimby stuff
