Ultimate Frisbee coming to Raynham in one long huck!

RAYNHAM, MA — Every Tuesday, 6pm to dark, at Mill Street (aka:
Legion) Field, a group of dedicated, local Ultimate Frisbee players
will be playing and teaching this exciting new (to this area) game.
All are welcome to play for free!

Ultimate Frisbee is a coed, non-contact, self-officiated sport that
is one of the fastest growing sports in the world, and growing even
faster in North America. The basis of Ultimate Frisbee is "Spirit of
the Game," <www.UPA.org/spirit>, "Ultimate Frisbee relies upon a
spirit of sportsmanship that places the responsibility for fair play
on the player. Highly competitive play is encouraged, but never at
the expense of mutual respect among competitors, adherence to the
agreed upon rules, or the basic joy of play."

A recently released national sporting goods manufacturer's
association survey (conducted by Survey USA), showed that Ultimate
Frisbee is played by three times (3x) as many people and lacrosse and
rugby, combined. More than two million plus people said they've
played Ultimate Frisbee in the past 12 months.

Now through the end of October, everyone (18-50+ of age, women and
men), are invited to learn while playing, at the Mill Street (aka:
Legion) Field, located at 291 Mill Street, Raynham, MA 02767, next to
American Legion Post 405. Player/coach/captains will teach you this
great game while getting a great workout. Free One-on-one coaching
will be available to those who arrive before 6pm. Raynham residents
Chris Yule, Dave Sherburne, Tom Yule and Ryan Whitty spearheaded the
effort, and worked hard to start this pickup game.

If you want to play, either subscribe to the
<RaynhamUltimate@googlegroups.com> eMaiList, or, just show up on
Tuesday night at Mill Street Field with your own water bottle, and a
White shirt and a Black or Dark Blue shirt. Cleated running shoes are
helpful, but not required.

This Ultimate Frisbee pickup game is offered free of charge thanks to
the assistance of the Boston Ultimate Disc Alliance <www.BUDA.org>and
the Raynham Parks and Recreation Department. If you have any
questions, please call or TXT MSG the group leader and Lakeville
resident, José Invêncio, 508-692-8505. See you on the fields.
