Any of the experienced Silver Star pilots care to consider hosting a site intro for the general pilots? I have a cousin who lives near Moulten falls on the river that could host overnight camping if we wanted to make it a weekend event.

Does anyone know if it's legal to take a street legal motorcycle up the trails past the parking lot? I noticed about 1/3 way to launch there is a trail that goes around the backside of the peak that says no motorcycles or snowmobiles. Does that infer that they are allowed on the front side, or on the approaches form the West. I have been unable to find a definitive answer.

Thanks,

Stu

I am interested in a day of flying at Silverstar.  Afterward, I would be interested in checking out the campground facility but don't plan to camp there this weekend, too many things to get done at home.  I will go fly Silverstar with ya Stu.

I don'nt plan attending the WoodRat evet this holiday so I am sticking around close and am available to fly most days. The forecast shows primarily NW winds this holiday.  So that makes CLO, Sollie, Bingen, Silvestar, Hug Point, Angora point (or what ever that is south of hug point.), and kiwanda.  I am looking forwared to checking out Hug Point, Angora and Silvestar especially.
So, if you need someone to fly with I will be available.

Eric,  Tyler and others had nice flights there last week.

Launched from snow many times over the years. Wild flowers, berries and fall colors are also great seasons to be there.

Attached photo shows what you can expect to see from the beach if you go to explore the Angora Peak area with more info here:

Probably a good idea to flag potential LZ areas or take soap bubble kits to check the unknown.

There's no snow on launch. It's was spicy spring conditions when we
flew on Friday. Lots of peaked vario "holy shit" moments, a few where
the thermal seemed to drag me away from my intended direction of
travel... So a little scary at times but I'd do it again. Many big fat
awesome thermals as well. The hike is short from the upper lot. Took
me half hour without a pack and 45 min with... Not really that far.
It was indeed a bit tricky to get down but that's just because we
landed while it was in its prime, 5pm, because we were cold. A great
place to fly.

Cheers,

Yeah Eric, Geez! I only clicked on your post cuz I was expecting a run-down on the finest of all rabbit furs: Angora. Instead I got the ol' bait and switch and had to read about some stupid place that was neither silver or starry.
I'm keepin my eyes on you.

This is another post posing as a post but actually causing post traumatic post disorder. No rabbits were harmed in the posting of this post... yet. Fais gaffe, p'tit lapin.
