That's the second time in a row that my email to the list has been
delayed by hours. I actually sent this one out at 9:30 am yesterday, but it
didn't get posted until after 4:30? Going to have to check with my mail host
about that one! :-(
We had a great time at Andersons yesterday. I'm guessing around 3
hours of airtime, more or less between one nice long solo flight, and two tandem
flights. I got to take Molly's son Gabe for a flight. Pretty funny
beginning as he said that he had to get to the airport, plus he was nervous, so
this would have to be a straight to the beach flight. I said, let's get
launched, then we will negotiate the flight time. 30 seconds into the
flight, I asked if we should go land. It seems all of his nervousness
went away, as his answer was an enthusiastic NO, Not Yet!
:-)
The second guy was from Switzerland and was in the midst
of a 8 month around the world tandem bicycle trip with his girlfriend.
He saw all of us flying, and couldn't resist taking the time to get in a
flight. :-)
After that, we went to Kiwanda for the evening. it was flyable on
the dune, but only soarable on the west ridge as we had expected. I made it out
once, launching from the crows nest while Maren was working with Ellis on the
dune. Eventually it was Marens turn, so I gave her a quick yank to get her
some ridge time too. Ellis got a chance to go for a 'high' tow too. I say
'high', but we were only able to get him to around 1000' or so. Towing on Sunset
Beach is sooooo much easier! One more quick hop for Maren, and it was time to go
home.
Awesome day!
