After this weekend's accident at Bald Butte I spoke with Dave Cantrell and mentioned that it might be a good time for the Club to host another 

seminar - this time on the subject of doing PLF's.

Any kind of practice doing something gets the brain and the body into the mode of ready to perform an action automatically.  A practice session somewhere 

benign, -like at Kiwanda, would be very beneficial to everyone who would attend. 

Dave would be the perfect instructor to lead the session and I would help out with the logistics.

So, -how about this, -huh?  Who wants to participate & bone up on their PLF skills?

I strongly second this proposition. Was just thinking of trying to con (convince?) Dave into coming out here and doing some training for our students.

We could put together a clinic of some sort that includes PLF's, cross wind landings, and (for a small fee) we could put together a ground handling tips and tricks session for the group. If it was held here, the small ridge we have here would work great for the cross wind landings. If it was preferred, we could take the truck to Kiwanda and offer tows to get folks up on the west ridge too.

Don't mean to modify any plans or anything, but I am enthusiastic about having Dave show us his skills with a PLF and help us all improve too. They really do work fantastically well when done properly.

Count us in if it seems a benefit.
