Weather conditions improved from the morning and a short 70k task was called.  Sims Corner then Mansfield.  It was upwind for the first 50k or so.  Ugh…

I made it up to 8700 feet and crossed the river to the flats.  I had a couple of climbs but was getting bounced around a lot over the flats  and left a thermal  at 6000 deciding to try and stay low and find something more “friendly” as I headed for Sims Corner.   It didn’t work.  I landed 15k on course.   Mike Steed did much better but landed short of goal.   It hasn’t been scored yet but I believe only 5 plots made goal.

After landing while waiting for the retrieve van I had a lot of fun watching the dusties roll across the fields being prepped for planting.

Yesterday’s flight should keep me solidly out of last place.  But today’s 15k won’t move me up any.
