Well, the quick and dirty was that I arrived after noon and folks were in the air with excellent flying conditions until late afternoon or even the evening I suspect. It got light at one point but never turned off completely.
I launched shortly after arrival and like so many, was able to find sufficient lift to go out to the point and buzz around until tired or cold or until a bladder emptying was needed. At one point I counted 23 wings in the air. Lots of flights over 1.5 hours.
I guess I should share that in addition to having a great first flight, with my second flight I had the worst launch of the day that actually ended up with the pilot airborne.
I was distracted by a lady & her two daughters taking pictures and asking questions while I was trying to prep, and simply wasn't concentrating. I drug a soft, half inflated wing down the slope and got airborne through the grace of God and by flaring as I reached the bushes - a poor technique to rely on.
Just a reminder any distraction can be significant and we need to focus.
