As Rich mentioned, we were informed Sunday the land owners of the LZ are upset because several weeks ago some paraglider landed in the LZ and their retrieval drove down the land owners driveway, all the way to the their house picked up the pilot, turned around in their driveway and drove off.
That is in violation of our agreement with the land owners. The owners did not get a name or description unfortionately.
I can only assume that the pilot knows the rules but perhaps did not inform the retrieve driver of the rules or communicate a retrieval plan with the driver. So, the driver did not know of any consequences of their actions. So it is an unintentional mistake.
So, as pilots we must insure our visiting friends and drivers know the protocols otherwise we will lose this landing zone.
Please pass this message on to others that you know of that may not be connected to our website.
Also, the parents are very protective of the children and very conserned regarding strangers around their children. They don't want us including names of the kids or even including them in our flight reports on line. Never offer the kids a ride back to the house or offer them money for helping out with packing the gear up.
