Salesforce Destination

The Salesforce Destination component documentation lists the following
options but I can't seem to find them in the properties (installed 1.5
SR-3):

RelationshipName (Salesforce Destination Input) (1.5 SR-2)
Specify relationship name for updating foreign key lookup with
external identifier.

ReferenceType (Salesforce Destination Input) (1.5 SR-2)
Specify referenced object for updating foreign key lookup with
external identifier.

ExternalId (Salesforce Destination Input) (1.5 SR-2)
Specify external identifier field for updating foreign key lookup with
external identifier.

I assume this can be used to use an External ID on a parent object to
upsert?

Can you point me to the right direction of where to find these
options?

Hi Katalin,

You can create an Text type field in that object mark it as External Id column that hold unique number like Records Id and you can use Upsert instead of update in Sales Force Destination and map External Id column in Sales force.

Advantage here is it will take of Insert as well as update and it will avoid duplicates also.

I am having trouble using the external ID in the external column element in SSIS 2005 (known bug)

 

I understood from the demo movie that there is a workaround.

Hi Asaf,

General if you are using external id column, it should have unique value. If you have duplicate external id value, it will throw exception while doing upsert. you can capture it by Error Description column of return value of Sales for destination.

Can you please provide exact error message you got while using external id for integration. May be I will help you if know those issue.
