I'm Mark. My businesses are diverse. I joined this group to
introduce members to a simple rule that works for everyone. Its
called The Law of Reciprocity. It works to ensure that you get by
giving, and causes increase. This Law can help you raise the money
you need to start or expand your business.

Having been blessed with the capacity to look at a business, see it as
a hole, and see how to improve it, strengthen its top line, and create
a smaller gap between the top line and the bottom line, I am willing
to share my insights with you or anyone like you without charging you
for everything I do. Ask and it shall be granted unto you.

Hit me up and see if I can help you grow your company.

Regards,
Pops

Mark, why not start by *giving* us a little more info on your experiences and backgrounds? :)

Alex,
If you are interested in my experiences and backgrounds you must have
a reason. I work in the strictest of confidence for a very select
client list. Here I am selling nothing, so no product description
required. If someone recommends me to you as a professional, you will
get the opportunity to learn of my experiences and backgrounds. If
you want to go snooping around on your own, I have no problems with
that, but if you have a business situation that may be giving you some
stress, I may be able to help you find stress relief. This forum will
let you get something of value for free, whereas in other
circumstances you would have to PAY for the same consultation.

I specialize in strategic business development with an emphasis on
marketing. What do you need?

-Mark

Bwah-haaa!! Mark can "look at a business, see it as a hole".

Now THAT's wholistic thinking. (I think I see an a-hole, too.)

Bryce, i hope u know what i meant.... or maybe u didn't! i know its
hard for slow folks to think conceptually instead of just literally.
another thing: i think u may need counseling on the hate and name
calling thing. please seek and get help on that issue before it
dominates you and gets u in trouble.

Ok everyone - take a step back and breathe...

Mark, Just so you know - this group is very tight, as tight as you can be without meeting anyone face to face.  We've all poured lots into our businesses and have given away almost everything we do (ideas, plans, etc) to help the cause of co-work.  Co-work is to most of us not a business rather a lifestyle combining our passion for creating things and relationships.  "Doing life together" would be a good term.  Although we see things in business terms - strategy, planning, economics, etc - our thrust is more "life" stuff than biz.  therefore we get a little defensive and protective of the "family" when we hear a slightly nebulous offer of free help from business strategist.  I hope you can appreciate this and just realize that your approach was a bit off and in the end realize that this co-work group is probably not a good fit for you.  That said, I'm sure there could be some things we all can learn from one another.  Maybe take some time to research co-work and the group and offer some concrete suggestions, no strings attached.  It might be helpful for you to find a co-work space in your area and approach the owner for a coffee.  Get to know people and then see if it's a good fit.

Have a great Christmas all!

Chad,

I appreciate what your trying to do but the guy is clearly a spammer - look at his other posts in other forums talking about how to make money.

And Pops, if I'm wrong then I'll apologize, but if you really wanted to help your best bet would have been to listen a bit to the conversation and see what things people actually want help with rather than coming in to offer vague suggestions of how to help peoples businesses.

Yes -a spammer for sure -  just wanted to offer some council as opposed to being on the attack.

Ever needed to practice a talk before a barcamp or a conference? Work
out rough spots with a friendly audience? Get comfortable
whiteboarding your chalktalk? Polish your stage presence while using a
clicker and a prezi/slide show? Want to see how horrible you look on
video when you can still do something about it?

Me too.

Toastmasters doesn't do it for me. Among other things, they nearly
always lack the presentation tools and facilities. And power and
broadband.

So I thought of coworking spaces.

Does this sound like an appropriate use of a coworking meeting room? A
good fit with the coworking community? Is this sort of thing generally
interesting or am I out in left field on this with the other
Slideshare and Ignite dorks?

I can only speak for us in Atlanta at Ignition Alley but it's a perfect fit for us.

We've opened up our space to many people for collaborative events, most recently an "Ad-based website roundtable":

We want our space to become a community hub. We don't even require membership but we do appreciate when those using the space  choose to join so as to offset the cost of us making the space available to the community, and that is happening quite frequently.

For other space owners I'd suggest similar.  For those wanting to use the space, I'd suggest they be aware that running a coworking space is often a labor of love and a gift to the community and that those using the space support the space financially in whatever way is appropriate.

HTH.

This sounds like a fantastic idea to me....but I'm new to all of this...and just in the planning stages of a space...something i certainly hope to offer though.
