For those of you who might be in the NY area during Columbus Day weekend, please join some of us LExC folks Saturday afternoon, Oct 7, from 3:30pm to 6pm to discuss coworking on a macro level, followed by dinner and drinks. Totally free and no sales stuff.

This will be a great opportunity for everyone to meet others from around the country...in person! How about that - no emails! About a dozen devout coworking space owners will be in town for the weekend from Seattle, SF, LA, Denver, Minneapolis, Grand Rapids, Chicago, Austin, Boston, DC, and Miami.
On the docket tentatively are these two topics:
3:30 - 5pm: The "State of Coworking" ( ~ State of the Union...it's election year - what can I say!). Turnstone and others will present research they've done, bought, or otherwise have on hand (when you're bootstrapping in coworking start-up world, who cares where you get this stuff from!). What are some national trends in the workplace? What seems to be working for coworking...and what is not? What are the demographics?
5pm - 6pm: Coworking's Outreach. How are projects like the Coworking wiki going? What can we do in the months leading up to GCUC in March to raise more awareness, and engage more folks?
FYI. LExC is a group of passionate, like-minded coworking space owners who got together to align similar approaches and achieve some focused goals. We recognized that even from just 30 experienced coworking veterans at last Octobers owners' weekend, there was still a huge variety of approaches to nurturing coworking communities and values. So as a subset of the greater coworking community, LExC intends to on a national level (1) enable our constituent members to benefit from fellow LExC communities, and (2) accommodate businesses who are considering coworking as part of their workplace strategies. In short, focused efforts for community-wide benefits.
