FWIW, I am a printer tech.

Have you tried to install a maintenance kit?  the cost is likely $300 to $500 to have a tech do it, and you can find one at amazon for less to install yourself.  http://www.amazon.com/3110CN-3115CN-Maintenance-Includes-310-8730/dp/B005HEYINE  This might resolve the immediate issues.

I would not go to HP as they have had "hard to maintain" designs in recent years.

I would move over to a Xerox, they have a long history with reliable color.  Depending on your needs http://shop.xerox.com/shop/office-equipment/multifunctions/workcentre-6505 might be ok.  There are others here.  http://shop.xerox.com/shop/office-equipment/

I do not sell anything, I just fix them.

I suggest you consider how many pages a month (cases/reams per month) and double that as your preferred baseline use.

Hi Everyone-
My name is Katy and I'm the community manager of an awesome coworking place called Launch Pad in the beautiful city of New Orleans.
We have about 100 members and 3 shared printers. 2 of them are heavy duty machines but our only color printer is a Dell 3115 cn printer and lately it's been getting hot so that anything beyond a color logo is too much color for it and the color sticks to the fuser, which is hot and essentially glues the paper to the fuser and it gets jammed. every.single. time.

Can anyone recommend an affordable color printer that's not HUGE. To replace this machine would be about $1000. I'm not sure if I should replace it with the same model (concerned it would have the same issues) or something totally different. Ink/toner cost is something to keep in mind.

Anyway, this machine IS 3 years old, so it's held up remarkably well considering. I would say it gets used by about 10 different people each day (not the entire community of 100).
If you are using something you love, I'd love to hear your recommendations!
Thanks,
Katy

Hi Bill-
THANK YOU-this has been extremely helpful. We purchased the maintenance kit awhile back to replace the fuser/roller and it didn't resolve the issue.
The printer you recommended looks great. I'm researching it now and hope to buy a new one soon!
Thanks again for the great advice.

Hi Bill,

I actually needed similar advice so thank you for posting!

Do you know of any comparable Xerox (or other brand) printer/copier setups that are WiFi enabled? This one seems to require an ethernet connection.

Thanks!
Oren
