Let´s cocreate a DIY Calling / Skype booths for coworking spaces

Hello everyone,

really looking forward to meet many of you at the european coworking
conference 3-5 november in berlin www.coworkingconference.com

I wonder if we could use the gathering in berlin to cocreate a viable
DIY Skype Booth under a creative commons licence for the coworking
world.

The problem: people sometimes want to have their privacy to make
important calls without anyone listening to it.
The solution: should be easy to produce, pricing max. 250 Euros

If there are some people interested in doing this we could have a
barcamp session on the second day (04.11.) of the conference at the
FabLab in Berlin.

Do you already have found a solution for your space or do you have an
idea we could work with.
Would be great if you could share some pictures with us. Thanx.

Hello Everyone

We have actually been working on this here at Citizen Space SF. You can see
the drawing in the PDF attached. We will be sharing this with the community
when we are done (end of this year).

We should have the first unit built and photos uploaded to the Citizen Space
Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/citizenspace We do have a paper model
photo on Facebook.

We have not added in the "skype" integration part, but it is on our roadmap
for sure.

We would love to hear any feedback from anyone in the group!

Thank you all for your feedback.

We will start the codesign process tomorrow at the www.coworkingconference.com
@cluboffice
We will have a little innovation space prepared to collect more ideas
and find the people who want to take part in the barcamp session on
friday @betahaus to bulid some first prototypes of the skype booth.

I will keep you posted about our results.
And please if you have any insights, ideas, pictures or similar
initiatives to share. Plz let us all know.

sure could contribute great ideas to this problem.

Peter - thanks for creating this.

I wish I could attend the conference in Berlin, but I'll have to just
catch the videos online and admire the barcamp session from afar. If
there is DIY "Skypebooth" work that can be crowdsourced to me I'm
eager to help.

Also, I'm part of a jelly putting together a new coworking space in
Jerusalem (launch circa January 2012) and we'd be eager to pilot the
Skypebooth production for the new space.
