Hello My name is Heba, I heard about Coworking from a friend of mine
in Lisbon- Portugal who just set up his space called Cowork Lab. The
concept and values are quite interesting. This is very similar to the
values I had experienced in AIESEC ( an international youth
organization), in which I was the President of the branch in Egypt
around 10 years ago! There are no Coworking spaces in Egypt, yet I see
that there would be a need and demand for something like this due to
the large amount of free lancers and entrepreneurs either working from
their homes or from coffee shops. I am interested to create a
community with shared values and to benefit each other... to
collaborate, share and promote sustainability.. I am at the beginning
phase of just collecting information about this. I have a place in
mind that would still need a lot of construction and decoration but I
still need to further research this concept first among people and
create a community...
Hence, I would like to join this group to further understand the
process..

Yes, I think the space you are dreaming of already exists. And it was co-founded like many other Hubs around the world from an AIESEC Alumna: Uli from Germany.
I am an AIESEC Alumni myself (I was on the German Board 2002-03) and have been involved with the Hub Berlin co-creation team.
Great to reconnect to more AIESECers in the movement...

Our foundation supports free/libre/open source projects and view coworking as a physical manifestation of FLO philosophy. We're extremely interested in connecting with spaces in Egypt so feel free to email me offlist and we can talk about ways we might be able to help you.
hello Jerome, scrolling through this conversation I found your comment ... now how about you, did you focus on the government these days? Please don't get me wrong, but especially in times of crisis, there is a kind of 'division of labour', i.e. some people out in the streets, others doing the backoffice work. Everyone needs to be where they want to be ...
