Trying to determine what type of interest there might be for coworking in Houston. If a coworking space were to come to life in Houston in the next couple months would anyone be interested in any of the following, assuming the environment, space and location meets your needs: 1) $350/month full time 2) $150-200/month for part time e.g. 15 hours/week 3) $15-20/day if space is available
I know there is a busy and active social/tech community down there, and I'm sure there are some folks working towards this.

Alex - Thanks for the response. I'm on the Houston wiki as well, just wanted to make sure I reached people here too. I just moved to Houston a few months and I know that there was an initial effort 6-8 months ago but have heard from several that it didn't lead to much beyond initial discussions. I've spoken with numerous people that say they are interested but I've yet to come across anyone that is currently making an effort to get it off the ground, hence the message I posted here trying to determine if there really is enough interest at this point in time.

I too just moved to Houston but would love to help lead the effort to make coworking in Houston a reality! What is the current status, is anyone actively working on a creating a coworking space in Houston or is it still limited to discussions here and on the wiki?

Houston is like 70 miles from East to West and about as large from North to South. If you are in West Houston somewhere like Katy would be closer than say Kingwood. I'm currently living in Metairie, LA but I have a friend who is opening a financial planning biz there and several family members who relocated after Hurricane Katrina. I really like the West Houston area near Westheimer and Wilcrest or near the Galleria. Katy is also a great area. If anybody is interested in opening in that part of Houston I will pass the info on to my friends in the area. I may also be interested if I ever move.

I set up a survey on the Houston Coworking wiki to determine the interest for coworking in Houston. If you're a potential coworker in Houston please fill out the survey so that we can get the ball rolling!
Cheers,
Rachel
